Founded in 1991, Outline Dance Centre is a dance studio in Somerset West teaching ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics and musical theatre to dancers from age 3 through to adult. The dance studio is at 1 Toni Center, 4 Fagan Street, and draws students from Somerset West, Strand and Gordon's Bay.

What dance styles do you teach?
Outline Dance Centre offers training in contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics, ballet technique, and musical theatre. All styles follow the AIDT (Association of International Dance Teachers) syllabus for structured progression and internationally recognised examinations.
What ages do you accept?
Kids dance classes start from age 3 and adult dance classes, including adult ballet and adult hip hop, run on the same timetable. Classes are grouped by age and ability level, from beginner through to advanced competition level. Our experienced teachers tailor instruction to each age group.
Do you offer adult ballet and adult dance classes?
Yes. Adult ballet classes and adult hip hop classes are part of the weekly timetable in Somerset West, for dancers returning after a break as well as adults continuing their training.
What are AIDT examinations?
AIDT (Association of International Dance Teachers) examinations are internationally recognised dance assessments. Outline Dance Centre has maintained a 100% pass rate for over 20 years, with many students achieving distinctions. Exams are conducted annually by external examiners.
Do you offer competition training?
Yes. Our competition team regularly competes at provincial, national, and international level. Outline dancers have achieved Top 10 placement at the IDO World Championships in Germany and won multiple provincial titles. Competition participation is optional.
